HQ Throwdown & RSVP
Tomorrow night will be a big one for the Legio Army Throwdown painting challenge, as it will mark the halfway point (give or take). This will be the fourth of eight individual challenges, with the ninth being the final throwdown featuring competitors' complete 2000 point armies. Throwdown IV is "HQ", which for most armies is probably the easiest throwdown to make since it could easily consist of a single model. We're looking forward to seeing all of the entries, so be sure to attend tomorrow night and cast your vote.
Another feature of tomorrow night's hobby action is the last day of the 40K Season IV League regular season. Tomorrow night will be the final opportunity to play league games, and at the end of the night we will conduct the random drawing that will determine who gets the "Wild Card" fourth and final spot in the following Friday's League Championships. Remember, to qualify for the Wild Card drawing your army MUST comply with the following:
* Played at least 4 league games
* Army is fully WYSIWYG. This includes things present on models that the model isn't actually equipped with. For instance, a model with a Lightning Claw on it must also have a Lightning Claw as part of their wargear in the army list.
* Army is fully painted- every model
All armies meeting that criteria will be tossed into a suitably awesome container, swished about, and one randomly selected to be the Wild Card. In the League Championships, the top overall player (currently Alvin K.) will play against the Wild Card in Round 1, while Second and Third play the other game. The winners of those two game will play against each other to determine who will win the league. Awesome!
So, please post up here and/or on our Facebook page and let us know you're coming. It's going to be a great night!

RSVP Time!
It's that time of the week again folks! RSVP up here (and/or on our Facebook page!) and let us know if you're coming. The League is wrapping up as tomorrow marks the first day of the final week. The following Friday March 1st will be the League "Make Up Day" and the last possible opportunity to play League games before we wrap up and randomly draw the "Wild Card" that night for the 4th seed in the Finals.
I'll be playing a league game against Mark's Necrons and possibly working on my Garviel Loken model for next week's HQ Throwdown.
How about YOU?

Elites Throwdown recap
This was another excellent throwdown with participants showing off their superbly painted elite choices. Although there were less entries, mainly due to some of the participants still being on Chinese New Year holiday, the mood was still great.
Coming in first place was Jeff with his awesomely painted Sons of Horus contemptor dreadnought.
Khairul was second with his Imperial Fist contemptor.
And Lena was voted third with her Dark Eldar Incubi.
Other entries for the night were, in no particular order;
Congratulations to all the participants for managing to complete their elites throwdown. Also congratulations to all the winners.
And a very super thank you to everyone who showed up for the hobby night to vote for the throwdown. The next one is in 2 weeks time and it's the HQ slot.
Cheers all.

RSVP for 15th February : Elites Throwdown
It's Legio Hobby Night time again guys!
This week our Throwdown participants will be unveiling their 'Elites' choice. From the standard that was shown from the previous 2 Throwdowns, you can expect to see more beautifully painted models this week. With a huge variety of 'Elite' choices available, this is one Throwdown you do not want to miss.
League IV is also in full blown war mode. I know that everyone is just itching to bump the top 4 guys down a rung or two. I'd love to do that too but with 2 losses so far it's not looking good for the saim-hann. But we will prevail. Remember, you need to have played at least 4 games and be fully painted by the end of the season to qualify for the finals. So start cracking more heads and paint up those last few models ;).
Legio Grand Tournament 2013
Legio Malaysia will be holding our first Grand Tournament (GT) event this year. It will be a Warhammer 40K event run over 2 days on the 14th and 15th of December inclusive of a chill out with friends with freshly grilled burgers and hot dogs dinner event. More details will be announced later but do mark your calender if you're interested. It's going to be....Legendaarrrryyyyy!!!
On another note, due to unforeseen circumstances, our FoW Europe in Flames tournament will have to be rescheduled to the 26th of October. This just means there's more time to get your 2K armies prepared :)
We wish to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year.
See you tomorrow.

What a Night!
What a night, indeed! Last night was one of the best Hobby Nights we've had in recent memory, as not one but TWO awesome events took place. Tables were packed, smack was talked, and everyone had a blast as the dice flew and armies clashed.
First off, last night kicked off the fourth season of the 40K League. Games got started immediately as players did their best to get in as many as possible- Azlan even managed to get two games in before I left for the night! Speaking for myself I had a fantastic game against Faizal's Space Wolves, and learned just how shooty that army can be! While Prince Yriel and the rest of my Iyanden warhost weren't successful in capturing "The Relic", I did have a blast. 25 Wraithguard on the table is a lot of fun... Be sure to check the right hand margin of our blog to see the latest score updates for all the league players!
We also held the second part of our ongoing Legio Army Throwdown. Last night competitors were tasked to display their second Troops choice, and some fantastic squads were entered. Without further ado, here are the awesome entries:
In a closely contested vote, Goh and his excellent Night Lords Chaos Space Marine squad won the second throwdown. Beautifully painted models, a great freehand painted banner, and foreboding display stand all combined to bring Goh victory. Well done!
With only two less votes than the winner, Dann's Dark Eldar Wrack squad came in a close Second Place. The creepy flesh tones and horrific theme really set this squad apart!
Finally in Third Place we have Faizal's converted Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marine squad. The somber tones, sculpted fur cloaks, and excellent conversion work really made this squad stand out.
Our next throwdown is Hobby Night, February 15th, and the category is ELITES. Everyone needs to bring a legal Elites choices from your ever growing army. For myself and three others, we really need to show to this one, as we've all missed both of the initial throwdowns! :O
We'll wrap up with the remainder of the army throwdown entries from last night, in no particular order. Take care, and see you all next week for more miniatures fun and Week 2 of the league!
Azlan's Catchan Imperial Guard Squad
Faizal's Plague Marine Squad
Shah's Crimson Fist Space Marines Squad
Iqbal's Eldar Dire Avenger Squad
Lena's Dark Eldar Wych Squad
Shukur's Black Templars Squad
