Well, there's been a lot of excitement generated by the fun and success that Team Legio had at SPORE 2009. We've undoubtedly set the standard for club participation in this event, and we want to keep that trend going!
There's been some talk of "theming" our team for next year- having all players choose their armies based on one common idea. Personally, I think it's a fantastic idea, and to that end I've posted a poll. Just scroll down below, and make your vote. If you think there's another great idea we've missed, reply to this thread and tell us what you think. The idea of 10 Legio members all showing up with a Tyranid horde (for instance) gives me goose bumps! :)
What do YOU think? Discuss!
P.S. Before anyone has a panic attack, this poll is non-binding and will not necessarily commit us to one particular course. So, if you're planning on attending SPORE 2010, hate Orks, and Orks wins the vote, don't get too upset about it. It's just a launching pad for hobby ideas!
it'll be cool to go as a team with everyone bringing the same army, more or less. however, since our membership is so diverse, i doubt it'll happen.
ReplyDeleteon another note, we've got 2 more awards from spore this year, maybe its time we had that banner we talked about, to put up all our triumphs and whatnots??
theme is nice...a suggestion for the 14th Black Crusade, perhaps instead of just CSM we cld also include Daemons + renegade IG in the force....that'll help expand the options & participant base.
ReplyDeletethis one sounds funny wagghh!melayu...hahhahahaah
ReplyDeleteWe've been working on the banner thing for a few weeks now. A friend of mine in the US that has made nice ones in the past is supposed to be doing it. If he doesn't get it done in the next few weeks, we'll do it ourselves!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a themed charge to SPORE 2010. One good way to integrate those who don't go for the chosen army of the year (say Chaos) is to put the elements in their terrain and basing.
ReplyDeleteIf it was Chaos, then Ultramarine Dreadnoughts could have a torn CSM body in its powerfist, Orks could have CSM weapons as trophies, Tyrannids could have CSM limbs in their mouths, Dark Eldar have CSM slaves etc.
We can also use them as markers and such. This way, we symbolize that there's a massed Chaos charge at Legio, and perhaps the upcoming campaigns, leagues and tournaments can throw hints of the coming invasion.
Those are all good ideas, and it's my hope that at least a few people will be interested in building and painting new armies specifically for SPORE 2010. Maybe I'm being a bit too much of an optimist, but with a full year to plan it, I don't see why we can't do something like this. It would be IMPRESSIVE.
ReplyDeleteso, what r we gonna do for this year's legio RTT? something cool? better start planning now..
ReplyDeleteBases brothers...bases.
ReplyDeleteInstead of buying new armies and painting them, we could just do a common base for all participating members. There are a few examples in the 40K rule book eg. Chaos wasteland, Tao outpost, ruins, jungle.
Like Iskazri, I have doubts our members getting new armies just for an event.
Waaagh!India takde ke?
this is a real cool idea.. should make it happen.
ReplyDeleteI agree- it would be a lot of fun, and would certainly make an impression at the tournament! Hopefully we can motivate the Singapore crew to get some club madness going and make a real showing at our next Legio Tournament...
ReplyDeleteI'm in for the Black Crusade..my nurgle-infested Alpha Legion would join the cause, for the Emperor! :p
ReplyDeleteBlack Crusade sounds like a good option- I'm interested in finishing "The Unclean", or maybe doing a traitor IG force... It would be very cool...
ReplyDeleteBlack Crusade is a good theme and easy enough to incorporate all other evil races. I'm sure even Doc Selvam's DE can fit into the theme. Abbadon would surely wellcome anything that can cause pain to the empire.
