SPLENDID; one word that sums up the recent hobby night. All in all, a good start to a new chapter of Legio Malaysia. Even though the night was dominated by WH40K, the variety of appearance was awesome; Blood Angels, Eldar, Grey Knights, Necrons, Orks, and Tyranids. It has been quite some time since we last seen this much variety.

As usual, the night kicked off with games. Descent of Angels vs Saim-Hann, Death Company vs Grey Knights, Necrons vs Grey Knights, and Ghazgull Thraka vs Necrons; furious battles were fought; objectives claimed, enemies annihilated.

Concurrent with all these action taking place, the Hobby Table was transformed into a warzone too. While waiting for his disciples to end their bashing sessions, Alvin prepared himself for the promised Airbrush 101 session. In the meantime, pictured in the background below, you could spot a Sculpting 101 session in progress; with Iqbal sharing his knowledge in the basics of sculpting a human body to Goh .

At 11.30 pm, while waiting the Necrons to be overwhelmed by the Orks, most of the attendees were indulged in fulfilling their hobbying needs. In fact, you could almost see every single hobby activity you could think of in action in the last hobby night.
Clockwise from top left: Shukor with conventional brush painting, Alvin with airbrush painting, Goh fully concentrated on sculpting 'Sally', and Chris assembling his Leman Russ |
It was very nice to see new faces making the once-in-a-week trip to Legio Malaysia, and some familiar faces making appearances after a long hiatus. Distance doesn't seem to be the problem though, as the attendees were from all over the Klang Valley; Setiawangsa, Wangsa Maju, TTDI, Damansara, Puncak Alam. It's the will to make it that actually counts, and they've certainly proved it. A very truly pleasant Hobby Night it was, and looking forward for next week. Ave Legio!
It was spendid indeed :)
