The Imperium Strikes Back!!!

As is almost customary of my Hobby Nites of late, the evening started quietly enough. I assembled yet another bastion, as well as additional bits from the last one. I was about to start on the next one when the Doc descended ... and it was dice-time from then on!

My Ravenwing was utterly crushed by Doc's Dark Eldar, who proceeded to smash every single elite 2nd Company warrior on the table - in the graceful style that only the Eldar xenos could pull off. Picking up the pieces, the Ravenwing proceeded to take revenge on Iqbal's Alpha Legion, and scored the first win for the Dark Angels in this campaign and league.

I know Jeff had 2 games too - I heard he forced a draw against Jin's Grey Knights in a pure league game, but was crushed by Faizal's IG - go Imperium!!! Arzmi was having a tough nite, as his Inquisitorial army was routed by the rampaging Orks of the Clan Iz (will someone stop this guy already?), before facing yet another defeat by Joe's World Eaters of DOOOOM! Hmmm, we need to do something to bring the Emperor's light back to this Inquisitor. Khairul's Saim Hann avenged my Ravenwing and defeated Doc's marauding Dark Eldar, while the other xenos Eldar led by Dann struck deep into enemy territory and defeated Paxter's Red Corsairs.

The Imperium was ascendant last nite, and while they only won 4 of the 7 campaign battles fought, all 4 territories captured from Minthras' horde were valuable - 2 spaceports, a manufactorum, and a power generator. The Imperium lost only 2 tiles themselves.

There were other non-campaign league action as well, and I saw Shaz's Ultramarines give Ivan's Chaos a lesson in 40k. Redeye was on hand as well (thanks for the Cokes dude). And while all this was going on, Kai sat quietly hobbying away at the main hobby table (thanks for the chicken breasts dude).

After the last battles were fought, the campaigners (and non-campaigners too) gathered around the map to see how they had influenced the fate of Arenxis Minoris. The eldar xenos took some big risks by deciding to attempt territory captures deep into enemy territory. And as the last conquest dice were rolled, Faizal's team rejoiced as key positions were wrested from Chaos! Hail the Emperor!

I lurv Hobby Nite! Can't wait for next Friday, as I know the campaigners are gearing up for all-out war!

  4. Yes another cool nite with frantic campaign fights all over the place!!! Nice that the 'xenos' allies totally assisted the imperium forces. LOL

  5. that the xenos movements and victories over Chaos should not be confused as them being allied to the Imperium!

  6. Saw Azlan's army get TAed by Doc. That was very scary to watch :D

Ivan is still new to the game so I tried to explain as many things as I could throughout the game. Hopefully the league will help him improve as a player, since most league players tend to "up" their game during this period hehe.

On the campaign side, personally I think there is only one force on the Imperium side that can stop Is's Boys. And that would be Faizal's IG forces. Will this prediction turn out to be true? Dun dun dun...

  7. Oh yea, this season it seems the League Fanatic award is going to be someone besides me. Several players already have 4 games, and that's a very hard number to chase if I don't work hard hehe :D

  8. That fight against the Dark Eldar xenos was painful indeed ... somehow, the Ravenwing could not "outspeed" the xenos ... lol

  14. The Hemonculi's torture of the newly aquired Rawenwing slaves were shortlived when, Khairul's Eldars, came for revenge. In the chaos that ensued, most of the Rawenwings were rescued and the DE thumped. The Imperium had their revenge with a vengence.... but not for long. The Kabal of the Disembowlers has rallied and will have their say this coming Friday.
    Be prepared........

  15. Ravenwing? No Ravenwing were captured by xenos! Do you not read The Aquila?

[out of character: that was some battle! if we have time, we need to play again]

  16. Thank you dark brother for bringing to light the truth which was censured by the imperium news. Yes we were successful in rescueing the ravenwing from your vile clutches.

We even managed to rescue a severely wounded captain in a longkang/ditch next to his late by 3 months payment jetbike. Apparantly he had failed a dangerous terrain check on his last wound. Hilarious!!!!

Also censured was the fact that we left the injured captain at Klinik Bandaran Sec 3 Shah Alam on the main continent to mend his wounds.

We heard later that he was successful in defeating the deluded alpha scums. Does he know that he owes his life to the Saim-Hann???

  17. Rumour has it that the particular captain's army did defeat the Alpha Legion. But in the process, the jinxed captain wounded himself by his own plasma cannon, failing to ride into a crater, and finally chopped down to pieces by his enemy's 'lightsaber'.

Lesson of the day: when you have unpaid loans, make sure to complete the payment before going to war.

    :p

  18. I have information that we might have a Tyrannid player joining the league soon. Can anyone guess who it is? Dun dun dun...

  19. @Azlan- Xenon who? How dare you deny the Kabal of their success? This insult is more than I could bear. The Kabal of the Disembowlers decree that it will not rest till the Rawenwings are wiped off this universe and all that stand in the way.
The Master Hemonculi has also prepared a special tool for Farseer Khairul in Commogrrah...

  20. The xenos dare threaten the loyal warriors of the Emperor! You shall pay for your heresy! Draw your weapons, for Friday we do battle (after Iqbal and Faizal). And a pure campaign battle it shall be
