In case you haven't heard, Wargames Illustrated is getting a makeover! From issue 260 and onwards, the magazine is going to have a lot more content and hobby goodness that people have come to expect from this fine publication. If you've read WI before, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, or (gasp!), you've never heard of it, you need to get this issue. In addition to all the extra content, issue 260 will include a brand new sprue of the Perry Twins' British Napoleonics! The figures look fantastic, but don't take my word for it. Honestly, havent heard of d mag. Quite new into d hobby in relative terms.
ReplyDeleteAnyone kind enough to bring some old issues for me to borrow??
Many thanks in advance guys.
Wow, you haven't read WI? We'll need to remedy that. I've a couple of old issues at home. Hopefully will not forget to bring them tonite. Balau has stacks of old WI issues - we've been reading it for years. It really is the BEST wargames magazine in the market, IMHO. The only trouble with WI is that Malaysian newsstands stopped stocking them regularly since 1998. Once in awhile you'd find a copy here and there. The last few I bought were from Singapore
ReplyDeleteWe should bring up the idea of using club dues to pay for a club subscription. We could keep the magazines at the factory specifically for "light reading" at Hobby Night. What do you guys think?
ReplyDeleteHey thanks. Wld really really appreciate if u cld lend me some
ReplyDelete2nite. Am on leave till tue next week. Have lots of free time. What better way to spend than to read n piant miniatures.
Anyone free for games on mon n tues next week???
deathkorps idea is not bad ... RM30/month for WI ... if we can spend RM60/month on mags, maybe we could get both WI and WD ... something we need to ask the Legio
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Could be the beginning of a club mini-library.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a club library- maybe even extend that to codexes, rulebooks, etc. Not all at once of course, but it's something we could consider.
ReplyDeleteI think for the time being that subs to WI and WD would be a good idea.
Great!! A library that I'm not bored to go to..I love the idea!!
ReplyDeleteIf I joined and there was a club library I wouldn't mind tossing in some old mags or starter rules I've got lying around from the old days. I think I still have a Flintloque starter rulebook with Napoleonic Elves vs Undead scenarios in it...
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the idea of magazines for reading, I'd be more interested in having something that would promote miniatures hobby further.
ReplyDeleteThe books that more serious hobbyists like Azlan and Jeff have are generally expensive to get for most people are at the curious level only.
Whichever idea we follow, a library to share would be great for all.
